One small step...
Reporting from the concert
The concert last
evening (Friday, 7th October) was excellent. A turnout of about sixty ( numbers yet to be
confirmed ) with a number of new faces. The Maggini Quartet played brilliantly and their musical
interaction was extremely good. Comments during the break and afterwards all confirmed that
attendees liked the venue, were impressed by the acoustics, were impressed by the Quartet,
enjoyed the preconcert talk and the introduction to each piece by a member of the Quartet. The
team on the door somehow managed to cope with the numbers and it will be a lot easier in the
future as last night a lot of Friends and Members were renewing their membership as well as
paying for tickets. Special Thanks to the audience for bearing with us.
It was also nice to welcome back David and Teresa Oliver and to have previous Committee
members, John Shaw and Brian Warmington.
